This course has been designed to provide a sound foundation of the key issues and essential concepts in management which would be useful when learning advanced topics in management in the subsequent stages. This covers the areas of core concepts in management, evolution of management, functions in the management process, other related aspects, trends and challenges in management. This course enables students to obtain knowledge on above mentioned areas , some skills via continuous assessment and some attitudes.

Welcome to the course Human Resource Management!
The course deals with the fundamental
concepts related to effective and efficient utilization of human resources in
organizational contexts. The course will provide an overview of the human
resource management functions including job design, job analysis, human
resource planning, recruitment and selection, hiring and induction, training
and development, performance management, compensation management, health and
safety, introduction to labor law, grievance handling and disciplinary
procedure, employee movements and international human resource management.
